Stephen Marley

Reggae
The second son of Bob and Rita Marley, Stephen, the younger brother of Ziggy Marley, began his music career as a six-year old with his siblings in the group, The Melody Makers, back in 1979. But he made his biggest splash with his Grammy-winning solo debut album, 'Mind Control,' which premiered at No. 1 on the Billboard Reggae Album chart in 2007. His latest, 'The Revelation, Pt. 1,' marks more of a return to roots reggae.

Sunn O)))

Metal, Experimental (Incl. All Music Forms)
Sunn O))) (pronounced simply sun) is an American drone metal band in its broadest sense. However, it incorporates elements of the dark ambient, black metal and noise genres as well. Their sound is extremely slow and heavy, using droning guitars accompanied by feedback and other sound effects to create their soundscapes. There is very little drumming and a lack of any discernible beat. When performing live the band emmbers wear long hooded cloaks, fill the air with fog, and play at an extremely loud volume. The band consists of Stephen O'Malley (Khanate, Burning Witch) and Greg Anderson (Goatsnake).

Joseph

Rock, Folk
Natalie, Allison and Meegan Closner named their folk-rock trio Joseph after their beloved grandfather, as well as after a small town in eastern Oregon. They grew up camping at the lake in Joseph, staying at their Grandpa Jo's farmstead, playing cards on the porch, riding down his long dusty driveway in the back of a pickup truck, watching thunderstorm shows, and flying over fields on tire swings.

KOAN Sound

Electronic
KOAN (pronounced Ko - Anne) is a puzzling, often paradoxical statement or story, used in Zen Buddhism as an aid to meditation and a means of gaining spiritual awakening. What's KOAN Sound? It's the electronic duo of Jim Bastow and Will Weeks from Bristol, UK, who may seem up-and-coming to listeners in the states, but have been part of the Dubstep scene overseas since 2005 and perhaps are looking to follow the success of such artists as Skrillex and Pretty Lights.

Stiff Little Fingers

Punk, Rock
Belfast's Stiff Little Fingers were formed in 1977 and mentioned in the same breaths as The Clash, Sex Pistols, The Jam, Buzzcocks, Undertones, Sham 69 and The Stranglers in the first wave of British punk. Legendary DJ John Peel broke their debut single, "Suspect Device"/"Wasted Life," nationwide, and in 1979, their debut album, "Inflammable Material," was the first indie album to break the UK top 20. They broke up in early 1983, but frontman Jake Burns and bassist Ali McMordie came together for some reunion shows in 1987. Burns continued with SLF after that, this time with Bruce Foxton from The Jam on bass. McMordie returned to the band in 2006; he and Burns are joined by guitarist Ian McCallum and drummer Steve Grantley.

Rap/Hip Hop
The versatile Ice Cube has expanded his base greatly from his initial breakout as a rapper in the late '80s. He first came to public notice as a rapper and songwriter with the controversial and influential N.W.A. before breaking away at the height of their national notoriety, and has since gone on to record several albums and many collaborations. Aside from music, Ice Cube has made an impact as a versatile actor, starting with his breakout role as Doughboy in "Boyz n the Hood." He created the "Friday" comedy franchise, starred in the "Barbershop" comedies, distinguished himself in "Three Kings," alongside George Clooney and Mark Wahlberg, starred with Kevin Hart in two "Ride Along" films, and starred in "xXx: State of the Union." A true silver-and-black Raiders fan, he also directed the ESPN "30 for 30" documentary "Straight Outta L.A.," chronicling the relationship between the then-Los Angeles Raiders and L.A. hip-hop through the rise of gangsta rap. And his son O'Shea Jackson Jr. played him in the 2015 N.W.A. biopic "Straight Outta Compton."
