Three Dog Night  - Three Dog Night, formed in 1967 as Redwood, was one of the biggest bands in the world from the late 1960s to the mid-'70s. They racked up 12 gold albums and 21 consecutive Billboard hit singles, seven of which went gold. Three went to the top: "Mama Told Me Not to Come," "Joy to the World" (Billboard's No. 1 hit of 1971) and "Black and White." Other hits included "One," "Easy to Be Hard," "Out in the Country," "Liar," "Shambala," "An Old Fashioned Love Song," "Never Been to Spain" and "The Show Must Go On." Danny Hutton, one of the band's three original lead singers, and guitarist Michael Allsup, who joined very early on, carry the band's legacy as it closes in on five decades of performing.

Herbie Hancock  - The pianist Herbie Hancock is a giant of modern music, especially jazz fusion. He is masterful on the piano and to this day his improvisatory gifts are formidable. Hancock played with Miles Davis in the 1960s and Davis sang his praises. He has won 14 Grammy awards; including the 2008 Album of the Year for "River: The Joni Letters," featuring the music of Joni Mitchell.
